Hand-Crafted Porcelain Veneers for Dallas Patients

At Veneer Lounge, every porcelain veneer is designed for one face and made by hand. Dr. Shaggy and Dr. Tania plan each smile digitally, around your features and skin tone, and skilled lab technicians then shape and shade each veneer to that plan. Nothing comes out of a stock mold. The studio is at The Star in Frisco, about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas.

Key takeaways

  • Hand-crafted means each veneer is individually shaped and shaded to a digital blueprint of your smile, so it can pick up the translucency and small variations real teeth have.
  • You see a simulation of the finished smile before any tooth is prepared, and the same two doctors design and place your veneers.
  • A typical smile makeover takes about three weeks from consultation to Seat Day. Veneers start at $800 per tooth for minimal-prep.

Who makes hand-crafted porcelain veneers near Dallas?

Veneer Lounge in Frisco. The practice is built around porcelain veneers, and the work is split the way it should be: the doctors do the design and the clinical work, and an experienced dental lab builds each veneer by hand from that design. Dr. Shaggy is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and she teaches other dentists how to do veneers through our Veneer Mastery course.

What does hand-crafted actually mean for a veneer?

It means a technician shapes and layers each veneer individually instead of pressing out a uniform shape. The starting point is the virtual blueprint from your consultation, which captures the contours and shades of your teeth. From there each veneer is built to fit one specific tooth, with its own length, edge shape and color.

That’s how you get translucency at the edges and slight differences from tooth to tooth, which is what real teeth look like up close. A set where every tooth is the same flat white is the thing people spot as “veneers” from across the room. There’s more on the process on our handmade porcelain veneers page.

Why do hand-crafted veneers look more natural?

Because the shade and shape can be tuned per tooth and per face. Skin tone and face shape should drive the shade more than a shade chart does. A white that looks clean against warm skin can look chalky against cooler tones. Rounded corners soften a smile, while squared edges look more defined and can look artificial on the wrong face. A good design takes all of that into account, and hand-crafting is how the lab carries it out.

Porcelain also resists staining better than natural teeth, so it holds its color well with normal care.

What does a high-end smile makeover at Veneer Lounge include?

  • A consultation of about an hour with Dr. Shaggy or Dr. Tania: exam, iTero scan, x-ray and a smile simulation (more on the consultation)
  • Design changes until you’re happy with the preview, before anything is made
  • A private dental suite with Netflix, aromatherapy, warm towels, neck pillows, weighted blankets and drinks
  • Nitrous oxide on Prep Day if you want it, and temporary veneers while yours are made
  • Seat Day, where the finished veneers are placed, checked against your bite and polished
  • A retainer and care instructions to protect the result

The same doctors stay with you from the first visit to the last. That continuity is a big part of why the finished smile matches the preview.

Am I a good candidate for porcelain veneers?

Veneers handle discoloration that whitening can’t touch, chips, gaps, worn edges, and teeth that look short, uneven or misshapen. If your teeth are significantly crowded, we’d usually recommend Invisalign first and veneers afterward. If your teeth are small or narrow and your enamel is healthy, you may be a candidate for no-prep veneers, which need little or no enamel removed. The consultation is where we work out which approach fits.
